Float & Tray Frames
A float or tray frame is a style where the artwork sits on top of a backing rather than being hidden behind the frame's rebate edge, so the edges of the piece are fully visible. It gives the illusion that the artwork is floating inside the frame with a gap of space around it. It works especially well for stretched canvas, canvas board, and paintings or prints on hard board.
